'Breakens Head'

This was painted in a day, a very wild day in which I was unable to stand up on the headland looking over Breakens Head. I knelt before the large canvas which thrummed and bucked like a sail despite being tethered with guy ropes to four long carving forks pinned into the turf. Towards the conclusion of the painting, a particularly strong gust blew my full paintbox over the edge and into the sea, leaving me only what remained on my palette.
