'Syria' by Paul Manchester
In 2016 I wanted to try and encapsulate what I felt was the story of the Syrian conflict presented to us. From the shells of destroyed buildings constantly pictured on the news, through the grubby deals made by men in suits, weapons innocent civilians and desperate right wing rags, we are taken to the end of the piece punctuated by the gleaming home of 'freedom' the White House. I'd never attempted a piece like this before, but it is one very close to my heart.
