'Omran' by Paul Manchester
You may remember Omran Daqneesh, for a brief few days the image of him dust covered in the back of a Syrian ambulance was all over the news. I painted this portrait to serve the purpose of condemning our (the UK's) involvement in the Syrian airstrike bombardments and to create a 'throne' for Omran. His ambulance chair is painted in gold pigment oil paint in an attempt to celebrate life over the din of war.
