This wonderful old lady is Fleur, an intelligent, sometimes bossy miniature schnauzer. After our photoshoot together I had a wealth of images to work from and began work on painting her subtly complex fur, full of lilacs, slate greys and hints of yellow. Fleur's owners had this oil painting commissioned after some pen and ink illustrations I had produced for them in the past.
