Biography
Lorna had a nomadic childhood. She once worked out that she had been to 17 different schools spread halfway across the world. When young in England she lived in an old rectory near Banbury. There time moved slowly and it's contents had been added over the previous 200 years with little being taken away. With original art on the walls and without a television she learned to develop other interests. Painting and drawing became important and she attended Art School. A life time later and she is now rooted in the village of Eynsham and still in Oxfordshire. The village and it's life has become her inspiration. She is known for her paintings of Morris dancers, who, as archetypes, are gods of a modern village. She recently painted a series using dancers to illustrate the 'Seven Deadly Sins'; much to their amusement. This series was featured In a Folk Festival at the Ashmolean, Oxford. Lorna is now painting landscapes and also works under commission painting and drawing portraits especially wedding couples.
