I so enjoy painting dahlias, their petals form the most beautiful patterns and folds. I decided to paint these ones with my favorite color palette and to suggest a slightly fantastical setting for them. The blue butterfly in the foreground is echoed in the background I think they add a little more fantasy and magic to the painting.
