The client gave a few details of the members of a family he wanted painted into this cafe scene, the fountain was important to include as well. He wanted it to be colourful and not too much detail hence the dreamy look to the picture. A sunshine drenched scene was also desired, to fully express the warm lazy afternoon of an outdoor Mediterranean restaurant. Having travelled a lot around the Med, it was pleasent to conjure up many of my own memories of drinking cerveza sat in pleasant plazas.
