An expressionist abstract painting inspired by sunlight playing through a blind and lighting up fragmentary interior surfaces. A strange sense of loss and of time hanging motionless lead me to the words of the title from a poem by Wendy Cope. The rest is open to interpretation by the observer. Painting shortlisted by Harley Gallery for their open exhibition 2020.
