Biography
Cathie is driven by colour. Her vibrant, detailed and expressive paintings bring a contemporary edge to realism. She works primarily in acrylics to paint a variety of landscapes and cityscapes. Clouds, which she mostly paints with her fingers, dominate her compositions. In an ever-polarised world, she believes all things are united under the sky. Often including figures in her work, Cathie's paintings explore the relationship between person, place and identity - all whilst injecting a dose of joy and humour. Expect to see subtle changes to numberplates and signage, all done to make fine art fun. Cathie started painting seriously during the Covid lockdowns. Since then, she has exhibited throughout the country, including being a finalist in the prestigious juried Broadway Arts Festival in both 2022 and 2023.
