Biography
Clara-Jane works with watercolours and acrylics and also pen and wash. She tends to work in mainly a figurative style on a wide range of subjects including portraiture (both human and animal), landscapes, buildings, vehicles and wildlife/nature studies but also enjoys going 'off piste' with abstract works as well. Living in South Northamptonshire, she is surrounded by beautiful countryside and can see the River Nene from her studio. This in turn inspires her to work on a lot of wildlife paintings, particularly birds and small mammals. Clara-Jane studied in Cornwall (Penzance School of Art / Falmouth College of Art) under the tutelage of, among others; the well known Cornwall-based artists Jason Wason, Rod Walker, Robert Jones and the late Colin Scott.
