Biography
Ben has been a freelance sculptor for over twenty years, starting out as a puppet maker at Aardman Animations on projects including; ' Creature Comforts' and 'Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Wererabbit' and then on Tim Burton's, 'The corpse Bride'. Gradually moving back up North, Ben started working on larger models, interactive props and sculptural work for a whole range of clients including museums, exhibitions, film, TV and the Theatre, whilst also taking on private and public commissions in both sculpture and painting.

Ben did a fantastic job on a sculpture for me that was to be used as a memorial trophy for my motorcycle racing club. I had a rough idea but didn't really know what I was after and Ben was very helpful in suggesting different things and very patient with my frequent last minute changes. The sculpture looks amazing, even better than I imagined it would be. He's captured the essence of the person in question from my scrambled words and from a couple of blurry photos. Whoever wins this award each year is going to be very lucky indeed. I highly recommend Ben's work and can't thank him enough.
